Casa Del Mar pool repairs, closed for month of April

this from the RCI resort description:
"During the whole month of April 2011 the pool in the main building will undergo major repairs. RCI inbounds will be able to use an alternate pool at a neighbor resort Aruba Beach Club."

So how close is ABC to CDM, and is the pool large enough to handle the overflow? Also wondering how much noise may be involved in "major repairs..."

ABC is adjacent to CDM. They share the property (land) beach front. ABC has a rather large pool.

The children's pool is already renovated.

As for noise...I don't know, but repairs usually are done in business hours when repairs are made.

As KM said, they are right next to each other and are both small resorts so walking from one to the other is no problem.
In fact, the time I stayed at CDM the beach in the front had washed away so we spent all our time on the beach and at the pool of ABC.

When things are done on "Aruba time" I would not worry about noise outside of regular business hours - you Will not see crews working under the lights for sure.

We were just at BBC in STT during pool construction - it was inconvenience but not really disruptive.... but we also did not have the easy option of walking 100 feet and being at the next resort without noise or construction dust.

Updating to add that the pool was drained last wednesday and the main pool is fenced off - looks like work is scheduled to begin Monday if it hasn't already.
But the beach is gorgeous, so who cares?!

And to confirm what others have said, if you want a pool, the pool at ABC "right next door" is really like the same resort, or even closer if you are using a frame reference like Morritt's or the Royals in Cancun. The "outside" ABC rooms face the CDM pool.

Landed at 3:25, took over an hour for luggage due to mechanical issues. Got to CDM a little before 5, meant to go for groceries but got sidetracked by the ocean just steps away... sunset... dinner... maybe we'll venture out tomorrow.. or not

You might never get to the ABC pool although I think you can walk through inside the building if you keep going past the little grocery/sundry shop. We really loved the beach/ocean at CDM. Keep an eye on the little ones because there IS a tide and they will float towards highrise area.

How is your room? Do you have oceanview?

Your on Aruba time, should be less stressful a wait then normal delays!

Suskey, your OF unit must be incredible. We ended up in 1121, Really perfect for us bc the kids can play outside on the lawn and we can keep an eye on them while we pack/change/etc. Better than a balcony for them, and we've still got a great ocean view from the patio.

But I'd take your unit any time you like
