Important advisory for St. Thomas Virgin Islands

Due to a recent megawatt generator failure on the island of St. Thomas, guests staying at Bluebeard’s Beach Club might experience brief power outages during their stay.

Furthermore, the resort is currently not accepting new reservations through Saturday, June 25, 2011.

my friend just returned from a destination wedding in St. Thomas. She said they had loads of trouble because of the power outages. Restaurants were on rotating cycles of power. Her resort did not have A/C and she said it was very hot. The airport was fine; apparently it has its own generator or backup system of power.

There has been discussion about this on the BBC yahoo group. Some guests chose to be moved to the Elysian.
I do not see anything on the group about people not being able to check in today. Will let u know what I find out tomorrow.
