Had a crappy travel day on a flight filled with screaming kids followed by an interminable wait/long line at the car rental place (screaming kids now running around), finally get to Morritt's to find they are checking us into a Tortuga unit not the Grand, like they thought I might not notice. Then try to tell me we've been upgraded to a 2 bedroom because they are sold out at the Grand. Uh...... I have a confirmation for a 2 bedroom at the Grand. After almost an hour the moved us to a 1 bedroom at the Grand since I couldn't do the stairs in the Tortuga unit. Supposedly moving us to a 2 bedroom tomorrow. And they jerked around so long at the front desk that the dive shop was closed by the time we were done. We left with nothing but an apology. Actually not really an apology. Called RCI, no joy there, either - apparently we would have to leave the resort for RCI to refund an exchange fee or do anything at all. RCI says it's the resort's obligation to honor the confirmation, resort says RCI screwed up.
I am reminding myself that the management here has always been an issue, I come for the beachfront location and not the service. And what's up with these wristbands? I can't really do anything with it can I? What happens if I take it off?
I clearly need some unwinding time.
