I need advice... Any info on the Costa Linda-Rooms, places to go eat, night life, pesos vs us cash, clothing optional beaches, rental car, etc...

You can see the configuration of the units at www.costalinda-aruba.com. They are mostly 2 bedrooms with a few 3 bedrooms and 1 bedrooms. Everyone accepts US dollars and the local currency is Florins (Dutch you know not Mexican ) . Some really good websites to check out for restaurants, etc. are www.visitaruba.com and www.aruba-bb.com. They have reviews, etc. We've been going to Aruba for 10 years and we own a 2 bedroom for 3 weeks in Feb/Mar. My tickets are in my filing cabinet and I've already started monitoring the websites I mentioned for all that's happening in my "home away from home". Can't wait for Benny, the maitre'd at Chalet Suisse to say "welcome home" my first night. Linda

Good advice from Linda about those sites. You'll get all the tips you need about restaurants, etc.

Costa Linda is a great resort IMHO. Quiet though. If you are looking for night life you'll need to go down the road.

For a nice dinner nearby go to Le Dome. We made a res for our anniversary
and they had the table all decorated and gave us a gift !

        Costa Linda

Thanks for all the good advice... Our problem getting to Aruba may not be as easy as we thought. Traveling from San Diego to get to Aruba will be a pain. I hear the layovers are dreadful... Any advice to get to Aruba any faster from the west coast?

Lots of folks love Bob's Pizza right next to Costa Linda. Le Dome and Swiss Chalet are within walking distance.

The French Steakhouse is also next door as well as the Pirate's Nest.

As for pesos vs US....no, it is Florin (Dutch currency)...and you don't need to use that, as US cash is happily accepted (small bills...they don't like to get large bills, $100, as is easily counterfeited).

Clothing optional? Well, I have heard there are a few "spots" but Aruba beaches usually have a sign on them that say nude bathing is prohibited...if you want real info on that aspect, check out the Aruba BBs.

I know that along Eagle beach between Costa Linda and the Manchebo Beach Resort, one often sees some topless sunbathers,

I'm sure you've looked into Continental through Houston. It would avoid Miami. We fly from Miami (we're in Boca) and have no problems but I've never tried to connect through it and understand it can be troublesome. Linda

That is a great idea, Linda....I had forgotten how Continental flies into Aruba very conveniently thru Houston. I hope sirguy takes your suggestion to check into it.
