Which Morritts? Tortuga or Grand?

Morritt's Tortuga Club (#2082)

I just put this on hold. Is this resort as good as the Grand Morritts? I currently have 2 of the 1 bedroom units on hold.

Or should I hold out for something better?

we stayed at Tortuga and had no issues with the resort.

The grand is all beachfront and the building has elevators.

If you were able to get two units for your dates and you couldn't do that at the Grand, and you need both units, I would keep what you've got. But keep an eye today for holds beling released... also, one unit at the Grand and one at Tortuga would still be close together, no further than being at different ends of the same Royal resort, probably closer.

I have the resort layout that they gave us in February, you can see how close the Grand buildings are to the Tortuga units, I'll email it to you.

Thanks Len, This is a tough call. i am not sure if I should grab Tortuga or wait for the grand. What do I do. Is there that big a differance?

Not a big difference. You may be sorry if you think the Grand will show up later; with the last few bulks, the inventory just dwindled. And you are looking for a holiday week... of course it'll probably show up the day after you confirm...

What airlines are you guys using? All this talk about Cayman Island had me wanting to go, too.

I took a peek at Kayak, and the fly times, with the stops, were anywhere from 7-19 hrs, each way..........Yikes!

I'm gonna take a look at American. I think they were about 7 hrs, tho........

I don't recall any direct flights. I think we switched at Atlanta. There are few caribbean destinations worth that to me, but this one does it.

Oh lordy. I had no idea it was a seven-hour flight. Of course my kids will be pretty elderly by the summer of 2008....

There ARE direct flights from JFK on Saturdays.

GCM is just below the western tip of Cuba.
