As Avery has asked, what season did you purchase?

I own Marriott Aruba Surf Club, 2 bdrm lock-out, platinum season. I use this to do searches all the time, both sections. I can tell you that you will see just about everything, and will definitely see Disney. Even with my lock-out portion, I see 2 bdrm Disney's. I saw these, this morning.......

I have also seen Four Seasons, Hyatt's, Westins, etc. Now, I have to tell you that I have not done a request for any of these. So far, I have been requesting other Marriott's. I have seen the others tho, as you can see, even out of the flexchange period.

Also, I used an AC from the Surf Club, to get a week in the Ocean Club, and another to get a week at Disney's Boardwalk. (Don't remember the exact date, but it was around Christmas time. We saw all the holiday stuff) I snagged The Boardwalk, about 6 months out, 1 bdrm.

I bought a gold season. 2 BR lockout. Do you think I'll still see Disney? I only want to go in the off season, so it's not like I'm trying for a crowded time. January would be fine.

I never tried with gold season, so I can't say for sure. What I would do if I were you, is try to reserve a very strong gold week, like Thanksgiving, or early Dec. I think they would be excellent traders. And yes, I think that you would see Disney in January. January is their slowest period.

Put in an ongoing request once you've reserved a good week, you will get a January DVC. 2 bedrooms are harder, though.

I 'help' several friends trade who own Surf Club Gold...reserve a week from late June thru Late August or a holiday week - avoid Sept/October/early November as these are times of lesser demand.

You should not have trouble getting DVC in January, your best bet is to put in an ongoing search 11-12 months before you want to go. DVC's start getting deposited with II 10 months out.

I also just bought an Surf Club 2BR OV Gold and am curious what I can trade into. The seller just tried to lockout and book Thanksgiving 2007 week for us but it was sold out.

Does this mean Thankgiving this year is out? Can I grab another week and try to exchange for Thanksgiving thru II? Also how does SC trade with Harborside?

If you mean you want to stay there over Thanksgiving, yes there's a chance you can reserve something else and trade back in, either at Surf Club or Ocean Club, especially since so many Gold owners jump at that week to maximize their trading power and then deposit the weeks. But you can't get an exchange through II and then redeposit that to increase your trading power.

That is going to be a very difficult trade. There is the possibility of seeing Harborside in the flexchange period, or off season, but I wouldn't count on an exchange through II. You would need to get extremely lucky.

Harborside is extremely sought after. Therefore, most owners either trade through SVO, or rent out their unit. Even when they are deposited into II, there is a preference given to SVO owners. I believe that it may be a 3 day period . Any good Harborside is usually snatched up within that time frame.

You always have the option to rent out your unit, and then use the money to rent other timeshares that are more difficult to trade into. Even if the values are different, you can put rent toward the price of the other unit.
