    Anybody own in Jamaica?

We love to travel there, have only stayed with Sandals.

I have never seen anything available with II to exchange into

We had heard the Ritz Carlton was putting in a timeshare, but it was a very expensive kind of thing. Out of our price range.

Half Moon is supposed to have a timeshare, but I have never seen anything available.

We exchanged into Beaches Grand sport ( Now Sandals Ocho Rios and formelrly Ciboney) a few years ago but that was through RCI. I thought it was a great exchange and have seen it occassionaly on RCI. Haven't seen anything with II other than FDR resort but with the all inclusive fee you can do better buying a travle package deal there. When we went to Ocho Rios the all inclusive fee was about $700 per couple for the week which included transfers to and from the airport which was well worth the exchange.

Oh yes! We would love to go to Sandals Ocho Rios!

I did find someone renting a week for $1500 + the All-Inclusve Fee.

That is about $500 less than the lowest category room costs to stay there.

But alas, I'm a II member

I've been to Jamaica many times and mostly stay in Negril 'cause I love it there. Never stayed at a timeshare in JA except for an AI on Runaway Bay that exchanges via RCI, and that was back around '94 or so. I think the only one that exchanges via II is the FDR resort, and honestly it looks kinda old and dumpy...and with the pricey AI, I agree you can do much better than FDR.

If you're in II, have you thought about maybe taking a two-week vacation, staying one week in Miami in a timeshare, like Marriott, and then fly from MIA to JA and stay at an indie resort or hotel in JA? If you've never tried it, I highly recommend the Blue Cave Castle in Negril. I've stayed there a coupla times over the years.

        Cool runnings,

On my one trip to Jamaica, I stayed at Montego Bay, but also visited Negril and Kingston. I have no great desire to go back to Mo' Bay and even less to Kingston, but I was impressed with Negril.
