  • Frank how was Cayman Airways?

I know you had some issues earlier with overbookings and I had to pin them down for my return seats a few weeks ago.

Did you like them? Were there any issues that came up that I should know? What terminal are they out of at JFK? I'm sure car service will look at me with that duh glazed look to the eyes when I tell them where I want to go.

    T - 9 days.

Flights were pretty good and on time, They did not serve Rum Punch going because they ran out. The food was pretty bad, Don't order the Chicken curry that was real bad. But they give you Rum cake on the return.
Main 2 Problems I had was that they stole my 2 Jack Daniels Flasks from my Luggage going down. 1 was full of Jack the other was 151 Rum. Putting in a claim has been a nightmare, they ask a ton of questions on the forms and there is no room to write. Then you have to Fax it long distance. had to fax it 3 times.
The other problem is on the return, When you arrive there is a huge wait for them to attach the ladder thingy to the plane so you can walk off. We were stranded for 45 minutes before we could walk off. They said it was the finger that caused it. Same problem happened the next day to our friends.

BTW Save time buy your Rum cake at Blackbeards in the Airport. Best deal in town pay $23 for a mini 6 pack and get a $15 large cake free.

Note to self: Don't pack liquor in the luggage. I usually buy whatever our allotment is at JFK dutyfree.

      Airline food is airline food.

No rum punch? How DARE they! Sounds like you found plenty of rum while you were there though.

Do you recall what terminal they are at?

Aaahhh... Cayman air... in the late 80's I flew to GC quite often. Many travel stories and mishaps (after all, it is Island travel ), but the one that stands out in my mind was the food truck running into the airplane... we were held up quite a few hours at their "lovely" airport waiting for another plane.

Cayman Air lost our luggage going into Miami on our return trip on Good Friday. Plane was also late getting in, so we missed our connecting flight. After much "discussion", they agreed it was their fault and they would get us another flight to Minneapolis. Due to the holiday weekend, the next flight they could find was the following Tuesday! However, a very helpful manager was able to book a flight out the next morning through New York, after checking flights through Chicago, Detroit, Atlanta, Lauderdale, Orlando, Dallas, Charlotte, and probably a few others. All full for Easter weekend. They ended up paying for our meal that evening, hotel, and flights home for four. You'd think it would have been easier to get us to Miami on time in the first place. And keep track of our luggage!

Easter Sunday. 2 extra hours in Owen Roberts Airport but compared to the post above it was a dream flight.
