DH and I did this trip.....and will do it again
New Horizons II: New Horizons Charters

New Horizons II - power boat trip to BVI
Leaves from St Thomas and St John.
    Visit
    The Baths at Virgin Gorda
    Guana Island for Snorkeling
    Marina Cay for Lunch
Jost Van Dyke and the Soggy Dollar Bar

We board "New Horizons II" at Sapphire Beach Resort & Marina ST THOMAS at 7:15am.

If you are staying in St. John, we will pick you up at the National Park Dock at 7:45am.

Once underway to the BVI's, our Friendly Crew will provide a Continental Breakfast of Fresh Homemade Muffins & an assortment of Juices.

As we make our way towards our breathtaking destination, the captain and crew will entertain you with many pirate stories, folklore and tales of island life........
After the Captain and Crew clear customs for our guests (you do not have to do this!), we will go explore the Baths.
Our guests will be able to snorkel into the Baths and enjoy a detailed tour throughout the Baths.
One of our experienced Crew members will take you on a guided tour of the Baths. The Baths represent the fascinating attraction of the British Virgin Islands with exotic pools, hidden rooms and grottos formed by giant boulders strewn across the white sand beaches. The destination is like nothing you have ever imagined. Don't forget your camera

Following Virgin Gorda, we will anchor at Diamonds Reef. You are able to snorkel in these UNCROWDED waters where there are hundreds of colorful fish and spectacular reefs. This snorkel location presents great opportunities to see turtles, angelfish and sergeant majors as well as the splendid elk-horn and fan coral.

After spending time snorkeling the coral reef, the Captain and Crew will greet you with an assortment of fresh fruits. Take a minute to sit back, relax, refresh your drink and have some of the delicious fruit. After we unwind, our next stop is Marina Cay.

Time for Lunch! Be sure to bring your appetite because Pusser's Restaurant is well-known for its island flare. Enjoy an assortment of grand entrees and mouth-watering appetizers. And yes, Pusser's does cater to Vegetarians (Note by GrayFal: you can also pack your own lunch and picnic on the beach)

Next Stop, the island of Jost Van Dyke and the Soggy Dollar Bar. This island is only 4 miles long, population less than 200 and is known for its "barefoot" lifestyle. Our guests can swim into the beach or can float in on one of our boogie boards. There is no dock at this stop so our guests have to swim ashore and buy their drinks with their "soggy dollars".

Our guests can relax in the hammocks under the palm trees, go snorkeling, play some fun beach games and order a World Famous "Painkiller" from the bar that created it. We also suggest shopping at the boutique and take home one or more of their t-shirts with all the catchy phrases about vacationing and partying in the islands.

And then shrimp cocktail on the way home.

      Thanks Pat for the info!

Seems there's quite a few nice days trips you can take from St Thomas. That can make all the difference in the world for us. We love taking them, and am really looking forward to our trip.

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

The Baths at Virgin Gorda are great snorkeling. Pat that sounds like a great tour.

I went one year in October and when snorkeling if there are jellyfish - I always seem to find them. Fortunately it wasn't too bad and it was still a remarkable day.

These are day trips from STT and STJ

If you do the Wyndham TS tour, you get half price on the Day trip = $60ish?? or even less.
And 20% off minus another $35 off the BVI trip....for 1 hour it was worth it.

We were at the Marriott and they book these tours at their concierge desk in the lobby at full price - they are very popular.

            Pat,

Thanks for the info! All these trips sound great. We'll be in St. Thomas this Nov. If we can only do one trip, which one would you choose? We like snorkeling and something scenic. Good food is great but not the most important thing. Don't care about drinking that much...

Definitely the BVI one...bring your passport.
They give u drinks, fruit, shrimp - u buy your lunch on that funky little island.

Remember to bring a waterproof bag as u jump off the boat and swim 50 feet to shore at the Baths, I didn't have anything to put my camera in so couldn't take pictures..... same thing at Jost Van Dyke....jump off the boat and swim to shore.

If you are not a strong swim, they have rafts and will 'tow' u in.

I also brought dry clothes - after our last swim of the day at Jost Van Dyke, I went below, wiggled out of my wet suit and pulled on a pair of shorts and a sweat shirt - was glad I had them as I was a bit chilly.

              Just a wonderful day!
