I have on hold a studio efficiency in Tobago at Sandy Point Beach Club.
Tripadvisor gives it the number 1 out of 60 resorts in Tobago. It has great reviews in RCI. I don't know why I'm so hesitant; maybe because it's not a big vacation spot and I wonder if there is a reason for it. I've read mixed reviews about Tobago, but I have heard some nice things also.

I'm just looking for, I guess, more opinions from you guys.
How are the beaches? I heard it's very reasonable for food, gas and rental car. It definitely has island charm...

    Opinions anyone?

I don't think any of us have been but Ken (Faust) is going for festival next year. I can't wait to hear the stories.

Should be great, airfare would make/break it for me.

Actually Spence I checked airfare out of NY and it's only a little over 500.00, which isn't too bad.

Tobago is the small sister to Trinidad, Lot quiter, laid back, and friendly
not much nite life, or Resturants just the resorts, crime wise its better than its big sister Trinidad, for a nice relax vacation you chose the righ sister Island

I'm not going until a year after you and I miss Carnival by 2 wks.
I confirmed the room..take lots of pictures when you go and let me know how this place is.

I've watched bizarre food before and I think, aside from the cow heel soup, that the food sounded and looked pretty good.

I will do my best to take as many pictures and give the best review I can of Sandy Point Beach and Tobago.

After Carnival in Trinidad I am going to get in as much scuba diving as I possibly can on the inland of Tobago.

We've been to Sandy Point twice and I posted a review after our visit in 01/07 http://www.timeshareforums.com/forum...each-club.html

We're booked again for 03/10 for our third trip. Needless to say that speaks for our recommendation.

Thanks so much!!! You going back 3 times certainly speaks volumes. Is it usually booked up when you go? I know there is only 14 units in this place and was curious if it was always full

There are more than 14 units here, more like about 40. Both times we were there were in January and the resort was close to full. They are strictly fixed weeks so a lot of the people are regulars coming back year after year.

Our next trip is 03/05/2010 so don't know how full it will be then. What date do you have?

I guess we'll have to set-up a TS4MS get together for that week and see who else we can get to attend

We live in Chicago and last time flew AA. At that time our options were to fly to Miami or to San Juan and then continue on to POS. We chose to overnite in Miami and then continue on the next day on the morning flight which got us to Tobago late afternoon. If they have the same schedules in 2010 we'll probably leave earlier, take the afternoon flight to POS and overnite there before continuing to Tobago the next morning. AA doesn't fly as far as Tobago so we had to use the shuttle flights from POS. As of now Delta is the only US airline flying as far as Tobago and then only on a very limited schedule. Go to myTobago - Tobago Tourist Information Guide for all the info you need. Also join us on the forum on this site.

We'll probably do what we did on our last trip and fly in 4 or 5 days earlier and spend some time in the small fishing village Castara.
