Sunset Ridge Villas - Worth buying there?

All the recent sightings at Sunset Ridge on St John got me thinking - is this a nice resort to own?

I just remembered there is no AC and i was thinking about a summer week.
MFs are $993 and there is a 3 year special assessment of $400 per year starting in 2008...wonder if that will include AC?

Anyone an owner at this small resort?

Sunset Ridge Villas St John

I am not an owner but I have stayed there. "Potential" is the best I can say. The place is a wreck is the best way to describe it and has been for many years. Every year I hear how they are going to cremodel and fix it up.
It is on a beautful ridge with great views on a super island. The drive to get there is a bit of a challenge so I wouldnt think about having a drink and driving up the hill but once you are there the views are spectacular. I prefer St John to the hustle and bustle of St Thomas.

Thanks herbster..... it looks as if they are finally going to renovate - or at least they are collecting the money to renovate...LOL....3 years of $400 per ownership week.

I will be visiting STJ in October so I will go by the resort to check it out...with the special assessment for this year and the next 2 it might be just the thing to get some owners to want out cheaply....so I will see if I like it when I visit.
