  • Caribbean suggestions for late January

Hey folks. Trying to pick out a warm place in late January. We're RCI members so an RCI site is a big plus.
Not ruling anything out right now, all inclusives, not all inclusives, whatever. Would like somewhere with beach and a nice pool, lots of people around, not a million miles from town and stuff to do. Active couple in our early 30s. Not wild college kids but not old fogie either.
    Thanks

Lots and lots of people love Aruba. It's easy to get to and there are lots of timeshares so availability is pretty good. Also there is plenty for you youngsters to do. It's a "younger" destination, I think. Foget Curacao, nothing there to speak of.

Barbados is a wonderful island, very British and immaculately clean.

The resort areas of the Dominican Republic, like Punta Cana, are heavenly, but you MUST go all-inclusive. Any of the Melia resorts are great.

If I were you, though, I would look at Mexico. the dollar goes farther and you can have a great time in places like Puerto Vallarta, Ixtapa, or Mazatlan without going to the mega resorts in Cancun or the old resorts in Acapulco.

Are you divers? If so, look at Grand Cayman, Belize or Roatan--although the last is still pretty desolate if you want to party.

There are just so many good places to go. See what you can get and then go on-line and find out all the great things there are to do. You really can't go wrong in the Carribbean in late January. Go for it!
