  • Sandals in Jamacia

My daughter needs a honeymoon spot and her funds are low so I was thinking of giving her my points/or weeks for a honeymoon. I know they would rather do All inclusive. Sandals has been around forever.. anyone know how they treat RCI folks? Anyone been to this resort? Any info would be appreciated!

I think I have never actually seen Sandals available for an exchange. I did do my honeymoon at the Sandals Montego Bay many many years ago and had a friend do his at Sandals Ocho Rios. If I would do it again I would go for the Ocho Rios Resort it looked much nicer when we went there for lunch. I did not see inside the rooms, I would guess just as nice as Montego Bay. They do have great air inclusive plans available. I would check them out as well.

We stayed at Beaches Grande Resort Ocho Rios ( formerly Ciboney) now Sandals Grande Resort villas. We had a timeshare villa with a shared plunge pool and had use of all of the facilities at Sandals Ocho Rios and Sandals Dunn's river. We had dinners at the gourmet restaurants every night at either Beaches or Sandals as part of the AI program. There was no difference between what we received as timeshare guests Vs. hotel guests. The hotel is on the beach and the timeshare villa's are across the street but they take you by shuttle down to the beach every half hour. We usually walked since it was downhill going to the beach but usually took the shuttle back.

I have seen exchange availability several times on line either 18 months in advance or within the last 60 days. Although it's not easy to get an exchange it would depend on what time of year you needed to get this. I am not a points owner so have no idea if that would make it an easier exchange. We were there a few years ago in the beginning of December. Any winter week starting with xmas to the middle of March would be a very difficult trade.

This was one of our best vacations ever and we had a great time so if you can get it I would highly recommend it.

Larry is correct and remember Sandals properties are rated in the top 10 for all inclusives.

Sandals Ochie Rios is great for weddings, I have friends that own there, and most are fix weeks, but Sandals will let them float if its not high demand time you want, the AI per.couple last year was $830 for the week, that include airport pick up and drop off, 24/7 food- drinks- none moterize water sport and you can eat and play at any Sandals or beaches resort, they have bus on certain days that will take you to sister resorts for the day and back no extra charge, at Sandals ochio Rios they have 7,5 star Resturants, food is top notch, I will be there this July 4 week, what week is your daughters wedding, I help a Friend last year get a two bedroom privite villa with own Plunge pool for $2100 sleep 6 for his daughters wedding, PM me with date and I will See If I can Help
