  • Where to stay in St Martin.....

I have a week that's expiring this winter, and I'd love to to go to the Caribbean, if possible. I'm planning on grabbing anything that pops up, but would like to go to St Martin, should anything become available.

Not sure where to stay, tho.....As if I'm going to have a choice. lol

You never know, so just in case.....Has anyone been to any of these resorts? Which would you recommend? These seem to be the only resorts that this particular week is seeing.........

    Oyster Bay Beach Resort
    OYS
Oyster Pond, St. Maarten, Netherlands Antilles

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Pelican Marina Residences
    PMM
Simpson Bay, St. Maarten, Netherlands Antilles

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Royal Islander Club La Plage
    RIC
Maho Bay, St. Maarten, Netherlands Antilles

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Royal Palm Beach Resort
    ROP ROQ
    Angela

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

Royal Palm very nice - walkable to many restaurants

Pelican Marina- new units but Pelican is mired in struggle between Royal Resorts that runs it and a lot of its owners

Royal Islander -nice but had recent hurricane damage

Oyster Bay never been there- but people says it's nice and near new Westin Hotel

Parents stayed at Oyster Bay and enjoyed it and the beach it was on. Not Marriott quality but nice units, smaller resort - and yes, near the new fancy Westin which would be nice for bar/restaurant selections.

          Go for Pelican Marina Residences

Brand new, beautiful units, built and run by Royal Resorts who have several of the top rated timeshares in the world. Walking distance to lots of restaurants.

I went to the Pelican last year and had a great time, good snorkling from their beach. A decent casino right at the resort.
Beware though, the resort is very hilly and depending which part of the resort you end up in there can be a lot of heavy walking involved. But would I go back again? Absolutely.

I think you would be happy at any of the resorts you mentioned. Lots of folks love the Oyster Bay Beach Resort, but for me, it is a little too remote especially at night. Of the other three mentioned, given a choice I would select the Pelican Marina Residences mainly because it is the newest and fanciest of the three. The Royal Islander is closed due to hurricane damage but is scheduled to reopen on February 14. None of the three have great beaches, but you would want to have a rental car anyway to really experience all that the island has to offer.

The small, LaVista, not LaVista Beach, is sweet, not overly built.

Try the small stand alone cottages.
