    [QUOTE=GrayFal;304889]

There is a VERY active sales staff here .... avoid them.

    Agreed.

There is a very nice Welcome Party on Monday - RCI exchangers, renters and "Golden Turtles" - those who purchased thru the resort - get free drinks. As a resale owner, I could not get a free drink coupon but you CAN go to the party (as I found out from the owner website).
Just request a 'name tag' for the party from the sales staff and if they tell you NO, remind them that you are not asking for free drink coupons, just a name tag for the party.

Don't worry Pat, the drinks were not worth pining for. Very watered down punch and unpleasant wine. I would agree though that the music and munchies were enjoyable.

All and all, I am enjoying the resort and look forward to visiting again....the beautiful, practically deserted beach is breathtaking! We went over to 7 mile beach - there is just no comparison! You truly feel you are on the islands when you are at Morritt's.

We did enjoy a splurge by having the breakfast buffet at the Ritz-Carlton. Tons of fresh fruit and wonderful pastries as well as the usual eggs benny, omelette station, etc.

The guys played a round of golf that they thoroughly enjoyed. Apparently many large iguanas were a natural hazard!

It was quite windy so we spent a lot of time at Rum Point. A truly gorgeous location.

Thanks for posting your photos. You have made me anxious to go back already!

We really enjoyed meeting you and your DH also!
It was great having the penthouse unit, but we also appreciated having an end unit so that there were side windows with a view as well!

Holly and Glitter Brunello -- I am going to be at the Grand as well for Easter Week (April 11-18) with my family. This is our first time to the Island and we are really excited about the trip. I have 3 daughters, two of which, ages 12 and 14, are Red Cross certified to babysit. So, they may be willing at night to babysit if you are going out. Getting them to babysit during the day is another story as they will want to be goofing around with us snorkeling or diving, etc. Tim

I knew there had to be more folks from here heading down for Easter/Passover break... of course your kids will want to enjoy their vacation! "Red Cross Certified to Babysit" is a new one I haven't heard before, but I will pass it on, thanks!

Great pictures Pat and a beautiful ocean! Nice too that you met happymum and SO. The resort and Grand Cayman Island look very nice and inviting. One of these days, I would like to go there but the pictures do help, if I don't.

Okay, I was worried that I got it wrong on the Red Cross thing so I called my wife. Yep, the kids had to take a special course here on caring for infants and learning CPR and had to pass a test. So, for whatever it is worth, they are indeed Red Cross Certified.

Good to know! Our local library gives a similar course. 14 seems to be the magic age, because once the kids are older, they want to go out on the weekends...

My DD and her friends did this course in the 6th grade....it was very eye opening for them and made them take their babysitting responsibilities seriously.....
especially as our area has lots of WATER

Okay, finally got the rest of my pictures onto the computer.....

Here I am with the lovely Happymum on the balcony of her Morritts Grand Penthouse (4th floor) unit.

This is the view from the Morritts dock looking at the main building/restaurant - the 5 story Seaside Building
and the 'old' 3 story wooden oceanfront building and the Reef resort (yellow buildings) beyond.

The two buildings on the left are the Morritts Grand, the one on the right is building C of the MTC
and the guy with the hat sitting under the second palapa from the right is my DH

We'll be there that week and the one before. We'll have to meet up and have a few drinks or something. Now if I can just remember when it gets closer to trip time
