Wait--can you do that with such young children? In deep water? Can you tell I can't swim?

They will have life vests on. But there's no way they're gonna get off the boat in deep in water. At least if they do, I'll be shocked. Wading off the beach is a better bet. And I wouldn't want them in the water unless it was shallow enough that I could stand, at least not until they learn to swim

As soon as I started reading your first post - I thought of the glass bottom boat....great choice!

See if the BIG Redsail 70 foot catamaran does evening sails - this would be a GREAT boat to be on in the evening - we did the stingray city/snorkel trip on it and it is beautiful.

Start snorkeling with them now in the bath tub.
My first snorkeling trip had several 5 1/2 year old girls and they took to it right away.......

My son learned at around 6 or 7, but he knew how to swim by then. Bathtub is an interesting idea, though I fear that's the last place they'd be willing to put their faces in, they can't even stand a little water on their faces when their hair is being rinsed... I've got my work cut out for me

I took Kelli when she was young to a dive school that took the kids to the swimming pool at the YMCA to learn how to snorkel. It was wonderful. She was not afraid to snorkel once we were on vacation. I had tried to teach her to snorkel in the Bahamas once and she just freaked out so this worked out perfectly. I did not like the stingray city snorkel tour from Rum Point as it was too rough and too deep. I went with Capt Marvin (as a group of tuggers) and there was no comparison. It was awesome. Take it slow with the kids under the pier as they have huge tarpon (larger than 4 year olds) under the pier. It can be very unsettling. They are harmless and lots of fun to see but I just want you to be forwarned.

Be sure to take them to the turtle farm . They'll even get to hold one. I think they will really like that. My fav restaurant is across the street, the cracked conch . It is a little pricey (to me) but oh so delicious , esp the cracked conch. Yummy.

              Have a wonderful time. shaggy

Glitter Brunello, I am taking the family there for Easter Week and booked a Stingray City Sandbar tour with Soto Cruises. Another family is joining us with their 4 year old. I am told that this tour company has lots of experience dealing with small kids. Plus, there are spots where it is only 3 feet deep and, thus, you could even hold your child while standing up. I hear that the kids loving seeing and playing with the stingrays.

                Have fun. Tim

soto as well as capt Marvin are both very reputable. These 2 men were the founders of making stingray city what it has become today. shaggy
