what kind of ID do I need for Bahamas right now. Can i get in with a expired passport and driver license and birth certificate for the kids ?

I know it all changes in 2007 but will this work for now ?

As of this date & as I know today ~~ your kids can go to the Bahamas if they have an ID (state) & birth certificate ~~ You need your drivers license & birth certificate ~~ An expired Passport does nothin for ya ~~ I recommend gettin your passport renewed & if at all possible ~~ get passports for your family if you are goin to be visitin outside of the good old USA ~~

According to the US Department of State's web site at
http://travel.state.gov/passport/passport_1738.html the requirement for US citizens to have a passport for air and sea travel to Mexico and the Caribbean will go in to effect 12/31/06.

All kids should have a SS # but there Birth certificate is what is needed. I agree I would get passprts for the family asap before the main rush.

the expired passport worked well on two trips to Canada. that seem like it would prove citizenship
