What is the best method to use in Aruba - credit card or cash?

Doesn't matter.....US dollars are accepted everywhere in Aruba, as are credit cards......No different than home.

    Angela

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

You have to be careful with cc's. Citibank, Bank of America, etc. have started charging 3% for transactions out of the country even though they are in US dollars. We have switched to using American Express. We use a cc to gain miles.

Credit card users: In addition to the 3% surcharge, you should be conscious of many recent reports of fraudulent charges relating to credit cards used on the island. Keep your card in view when using it and carefully check your statement when you return home.

Oh yes, Capitol One does NOT charge the 3% and some AMEX cards do. As to the fraud - we had fraud on our card in Florida 4 times. So far, none in Aruba (we are here most of the year) but there are thieves in all countries so be sure to check your bills for any card you use anywhere!
