Yesterday the forecast was for at least 2 more weeks of sub-zero temperatures in our area. Guess what - today the temperature has risen and a slow thaw has started. Latest forecast is for the thaw to last all week, with a slight risk of more snow mid-week and frosts overnight. The British weather, don't you just love it??
They got it right again - not! More snow overnight and Sunday isn't normally classed as the middle of the week, is it? Thankfully the general thaw does seem to be continuing, and the comparatively cold nights help to keep the thaw rate down and thereby reduce the risk of flooding.
