Do all the Germany timeshare resorts charge tourist tax? How much is per person per week?

I think it is a local think. In the Black Forest resorts, the tourist tax entitles you to a ticket to ride the local railroads free, as far as Basel, Switzerland, for the week, which is a good deal.

We were in Germany last week, in Switzerland this week, and will be in Austria next week. We paid about $75 for utilities and taxes in Germany. You got nothing else for that money. This week will be about a $100 charge. We are having a great time.

Utilities, cleaning, and some similar fees are extra fees that many European timeshares charge. It is not the tax. It really stinks that RCI allows resorts to charge for things that ought to be included in the m/f but they do. Some resorts charge these things to RCI exchangers but not to their own members. Indeed, I was even at one resort on the French Riviera where the people ahead of me were RCI exchangers and they piled on a lot of extra fees, including towel fees, for them, but since I was coming in through DAE, I only paid the metered electricity which was nominal. I think the total fees, excluding the electricity, for the people ahead of me was about $100, but fortunately I avoided that.

There are no utilities and towels charges stated on the DAE Germany resort web sites. If RCI exchangers have to pay around $100 extra charges, then that is another cost saving benefit to exchange thru DAE in addition to the lower exchange fee.
