    No, I would get them, or whatever currency Italy may be using by then, from an ATM machine when I got there.

    People where I work are dumping euros left and right. The dollar, the Swiss franc, the British pound, and if you can find them Norwegian, Danish, or Swedish kronor seem to be the currencies of choice. The exchange markups these days on buying pounds or Swiss francs is higher than I have ever seen it here, and is higher than usual for buying dollars.

    If the euro does actually break up, and I saw an analyst on the BBC a few days ago say that the chances of that before the end of the year were now 50 /50. then it will really be chaotic as few if any of the euro using countries stored their withdrawn national currencies, so those would have to be reprinted, which could take months. An example might be the breakup of the Austro-Hungarian Empire into three components and major parts of two others. Their kronen banknotes were overprinted in the various jurisdictions spinning off for use as temporary local currency until new currency could be printed.

          Carolinian, this is a question not on the euros.

          How would someone pack for a two week land visit to Italy, Egypt and Israel in the month of November.

          Should a man/woman pack mostly long sleeves shirts or short sleeves shirts;
          short pants/capris shorts for females or long pants ?

          Will the temperatures be warm, hot, mild or cold ?

          Any information would be helpful.

                        BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

                          From the link
                          However, markets took comfort from a successful Spanish bond auction and better-than-expected economic data. The Stoxx Europe 600 index and the German Dax both gained 1pc, while the French CAC rose 0.8pc. In London the FTSE closed up 0.6pc. Madrid sold €6bn (£5bn) of debt at an average yield of 4.02pc, lower than the 5.276pc of two weeks ago.
                          Believe neither countries uses Euro. So they really has little reason to not fall on killing their own money if things turn worse. And it is just a choice between select job growth or reduce debt and balance one's own book. Since they are not in Euro, so the choice should be easier, although it does not mean it will be the best in the long run.

                          Credit agent also down grade few US big banks. Don't know if it going to have same effect as SP down grade US. But the most important indicator probably is how easy these countries and/or banks can sell their bonds.

                              This is the European forum. But it probably should be in seperate thread. I was wondering about that (what kind of cloth to bring around middle east and south euro during Nov timeframe.
