  • The rise and fall of timeshare in Europe

Interesting analysis from Sandy Grey of the Timeshare Consumers Association:

I saw the thread OY. OMG came to mind.

I am curious, though. Why the high cost for a printed copy? Did Sandy have it printed through a vanity press?

Perhaps real gold lettering on quality perfumed watermarked paper specially delivered with flowers and chocolates.

I really don't know. Perhaps it is to get people to just download and it and print it on their own computer's printer, which is free.

If you read the analysis, much of it applies to the US as well. Of course the problems with the UK ''trustee'' ownership system, fortunately, do not exist in the US, the problem of sleazy sales tactics, no resale market, greedy developers, developers implementing developer dictatorships to control HOA boards instead of allowing member democracy, and the sinister role from RCI's rentals, all impact the US timeshare experience in a negative way. I like the way he spells out the players as the good, the bad, and the ugly. And, of course, one could substitute ARDA for the RDO. All in all, well done.
