Carol, is the cooking class in English? I am considering brushing up on my french before this trip but not sure I'll actually do it.
Yes the classes are in English, they even have one chef from Texas apparently so they speak American too. People from all over the world attend.

There are a lot of different companies running classes, some include a market trip to purchase the ingredients first.

Liked the Jewish History Museum, and the Natural History Museum as well.

Also found excellent and really varied classical music concerts to attend almost every evening for a week - a couple booked in advance, but some after we arrived just from reading posters etc., in beautiful venues we might not have seen otherwise. We don't normally go to classical concerts at home, but it was something about being there...

So I think we'll stay at Citadines in St Germaine - not a t/s booking but rates are competitive with hotels and we'll have more space. Location seems pretty good, right on the Seine in St Germaine. Cancelable so tbd.

Don't feel bad about the short stay, we will be moving from Paris on to Burgundy

Ok, that's the second vote for the Jewish Museum (if you mean the Holocaust Memorial?), so if it's nearby we'll stop there. I live within spitting distance of another Natural History Museum so prob won't go for that one. Interesting suggestion on the concerts -- I can see how that might really work!

From Paris to Burgundy. What a treat. You will love the Burgundy region. Also, you will do a lot of walking in Paris so take comfortable walking shoes with you.

I agree with this......I just loved walking through Paris, and also enjoyed the markets. We also really had fun at some of the small Jazz Clubs, in and around the Latin Quarter. One of the oldest clubs, although not really in the Latin Quarter is Duc des Lombards. http://en.parisinfo.com/paris-museum...c-des-Lombards

If you make your way there, be sure to go to the downstairs bar, too.

Rodin Museum - LOVED the gardens, some of his best sculptures are outside, and the gardens are lovely... did not have time to get into the museum but did not feel cheated in any way.
Loved the market streets of Rue Mouffetard and Rue Monge. While walking back through that quarter, you might stumble on
important Roman ruins, with kids playing soccer inside, which adds to the fun:

The Jewish Museum http://www.mahj.org/en/6_modedemploi...?niv=1&ssniv=0, or perhaps she was referring to http://www.memorialdelashoah.org/index.php/en/ , is not the same as the Holocaust Memorial http://www.cheminsdememoire.gouv.fr/...la-deportation, which is the Deportation Memorial located just behind Notre Dame.

Thanks for clarifying. I generally try to avoid these so def won't want to do more than one.

As I said, the Memorial behind Notre Dame is a very quick stop. It is very powerful, and I doubt you would ever forget the feeling it evokes, but you won't be there longer than a few minutes, probably less than 10, unless you are "the meditating sort." You don't walk down the corridor they show on the link; you can't. You look down it.

Here's info on one of them - same church and it was a concert of Chopin's music, a few reviewers wrote up here, we also just showed up at the door:
