What timeshares are in or near Edinburgh and Glasgow? We're thinking of putting in a request for those two areas and we want to be close enough to be able to take a cab or train to either city. Thanks.

You might look at the resorts database here on the website as well:

If any of you "experts" have any corrections or reviews you can add to any of the resorts we would love to hear from you! You can add reviews directly by clicking the "Review this resort" link on the right column when looking at the resort page. To suggest changes, please use the trouble ticket system so we can track fixes that are needed!

We'll also be at Cameron House in June. That is if I can find airfare and get the rest of the plans together. I'm running SO far behind on doing this. My husband has a scheduling conflict so may not be able to go when the rest of us do. I've thought of cancelling, but my DD20 is begging me not to.
What are your dates?

I was able to use freq flyer miles on Continental, leaving a day early, so we'll be in a hotel in Glasgow on June 1.
The roundtrip airfare from NY seems never to go below $1,000 (I have an ongoing search with Orbitz out of curiousity).

We've got a June itinerary starting in Scotland, ending in Ireland. For cheapest airfares I could find, I booked round-trip to Dublin on Aer Lingus - then we'll use Ryanair for a flight from Dublin to Edinburgh on day of arrival.
Sheila, you might want to check Aer Lingus. Their website doesn't work for cities other than their main departure cities, but they can book your ticket from anywhere using US airlines as connectors ... call 800-474-7424.
Acutally I'd only checked openjaw flights into Edinburgh and out of Dublin, and it was much more $$ than using ryanair. But after I booked, I noticed online that Glasgow is one of Aer Lingus' hubs. I didn't check flying openjaw into Glasgow, that probably would have been my best bet. So if you call them, you should ask.

Using an LCC out of Dublin makes sense - assuming there are no delays or schedule changes on the transatlantic part of the trip.

My son and I were at Cameron house in July but it was not the experience we'd hoped for. I'll be interested to see what you guys think!
(My review is on TUG if you want to read it.)

You will be about 2 miles from Gleneagles and the quaint town of Aucterader.
Great location to travel North, south, East or West on day trips.
Drop me a line at email if you'd like any specifics.
