How many countries have you been to?

23 total.

6 aren't really countries and a couple were airline stops, or wrong turns. By their list, I should add 3 this year and 2 next year with travel plans so far.

Gee, now I wish I had gone to new countries I had easy opportunity to work into day trips, just to go - Gibraltar from southern Spain, Sweden by ferry from Denmark.

This is an interesting statement from their site:
"Some first became interested in travel at an early age because of stamp collecting ... " True for me. Anyone else collect stamps when you were a child?

Actually you've already past me, since you have been to Mallorca and Balearic Islands is one of their fake countries I counted - there are probably others you've been to, such as Hawaii - you should check their list!

Out of the 23 I counted, I doubt I would have made it to 17 of them without timesharing.

Canada (several times)
Mexico (Cabo (2) & Cancun & a tour through N. Mexico & Copper Canyon)
Costa Rica (3 times)
Panama (to change planes...so don't figure that counts)

Add to my list more islands: Hawaiian Islands, Balaeric Islands, oh, and how could I forget...Turks and Caicos, and Puerto Rico! (Hey, I was also on Vieques, so can that also be a "fake" country now that it's no longer a US military base?)

Carolinian counted 82 countries so far in post #1. I'll bet that there are very few Europeans who have seen that many country in Europe.

IMO the list is stupid. For instance, it lists Norfolk Island as a country when in reality, that's as much part of Australia as Tasmania. And how is Alaska and Hawaii not part of the US?

It's just so they can sound more impressive when they've been to three states in the US that include Hawaii and Alaska, they can say they've been to three countries.
