Does Barnsdale Country Club have internet access for guests, either a computer or hookup for a laptop?

Barnsdale Internet

We just returned from a week at Barnsdale and they do have free wireless access, but you have to go to their lounge in the leisure center to use the internet. They do not have a computer for use, so you would need to bring your own laptop (which I did bring with me). Let me know if you have any other questions about Barnsdale.

We flew into Manchester, but we also spent the first week in the Lake District, so that is why we flew into Manchester. We flew out of England (from Barnsdale) using Heathrow. We left at 9:00 am for a 2:30 pm flight and that was just about the right amount of time because traffic was congested on the M-25 (Heathrow is only about 100 miles away from Barnsdale).

Barndale is set in a nice area with alot of day trips available or if the weather cooperates, you can just spend time by the lake (Rutland Water). I would recommend attending the orientation that they offer, it was informative and the staff is very helpful. During the orientation, they pass out a booklet that lists the attractions that are all very close to Barndale. If you have some ideas of where you would like to go, the staff was able to secure additional information and pamplets for further travels afield (e.g. we went to Cambridge for one day and to Lincoln for another).

Make sure you book a table at a pub in a nearby village (the name of the village escapes me at the moment) named the Olive Branch. We did not book a table, but were fortunate enough to secure a table in the bar area for our meal. The food was very good and it is quite a popular place to eat in the area.

The library in Oakham also has internet access available, but because I had a laptop, we did not use this option for internet access. The information that they hand out in the hotel does not list the Leisure Center as having internet access, but it does work and you do not need a password for access with your own laptop.

Complain about poor customer service when you get there. Probably best after you have been checked in. If nobody ever complains nothing will improve.
