  • Back from Ireland with photos of Fitzpatrick Castle Holiday Homes

We spent the week of November 24th at Fitzpatrick Castle Holiday Homes just outside of Dublin (our second exchange into this RCI resort). It was just as great as the first time. Last time (in 2005) we took my bro and sis-in-law and stayed in a two bedroom unit. This time it was just us so we stayed in a one bedroom unit. Click on the link below for the photos. This is a wonderful area and I highly recommend Fitzpatrick Castle!

Thanks for sharing the photos....my favorite feature in the kitchen was the wine!
Life is short, live it with this awareness.

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

Marks and Spencer on Grafton Street has a good wine selection. Also note the bottle of Jameson's whisky in the kitchen . There is a good off-license (wine and liquor store) on Castle Street in Dalkey with very friendly helpful staff.

Speaking of bottles, they now offer recycling at the apartments. Bins for paper and cans are in the parking lot. No plastic recycling unfortunately. No glass bins either but if you leave your bottles and jars on the counter when you check out they will recycle those for you.

Those chandeliers were incredibly beautiful! The most festive street in Dublin.

FWIW this from an RCI insider: the resort in Dublin is, as far as I know, gone, not longer in RCI.

I sure would love to see the pics of the surrounding scenery. Do you have them somewhere we can see them? shaggy

Wow, do you have any details about this? What exchange company is taking it over? It is still listed on the RCI website directory. There are only 9 timeshare units and the other people we spoke to had also exchanged with RCI. Plus Beverley who works for the Fitzpatrick Holiday Homes spoke only of RCI traders into the place.

We loved our two trades into this place but next time we go to Ireland we would spend more time in other parts of the country and less in the Dublin area.

I do have another website where I post "vacation" photos separate from the timeshare photos. Most of my family and friends don't want to see the details of the units such as what the bathroom looked like so I have two photo sites.

I'm in the process of getting those other photos organized so I'll post that site when I'm done.

I own at Fitzpatrick's and haven't heard of any changes...but would love this to also be able to trade with II.

Glad you had a good time, looks like it would be fun to visit there.
I have never been to Ireland but it is on my much much too long short list.

Now I have an album of other photos of the area we visited around Dublin. You can view it here if you wish.

We didn't do too much touring on this trip since we spent some time in the west and in Cashel on our previous trip to Ireland. This time we focused just on a few things we missed on our first trip to Dublin plus a tour to Newgrange and the Wild Wicklow tour. Mostly we soaked up the atmosphere in Dublin and tried out a number of beautiful old pubs.
