need recomendations for London

Need recommendations for resorts to request that are in London or close enough to get there in say an hour by train for day trips. Want to place a request with SFX.

Hever Golf and Country Club

We stayed at Hever through RCI about 6 years ago. The location was fantastic as it is in Kent (about 1 hour by train to London). Leeds Castle, Hever Castle, Churchill's adult home (filled with his paintings!), loads of wonderful castle-homes. We traveled into London for two days (decided to stay there one night) and had a wonderful time.

One suggestions - if you write to the Tower of London before your trip (see info. in Frommers) you can request free tickets to the evening Ceremony of the Keys. It is a hundreds of years old ceremony where the Beefeaters lock up the tower...spellbinding. They only allow in about 40 people and you cannot obtain tickets once you are there. It was a true highlight. Be aware that at the time of the ceremony you will not be able to tour the Tower...do that during the day.

Thanks to both of you. I knew about Allen and Sloane, but I was looking for something like the Hever....out, but able to get in. That is great about the Tower of London. Will be sure and check into that. Thanks
