Best GCs in Europe?

Hi - I currently have a request in with SFX for a Gold Crown in Italy (excluding the mountains or islands).. however, I understand that my chances of getting this are VERY slim as there are not many GC resorts in Italy.

Can you suggest a place where there are a number of GC resorts in Europe? Also, if you could recommend any that you liked, please do.

And, with which exchange company do you think I would have the best chance of getting a GC in Europe?

Try for one of the Dominia resorts, Positano for one. IMO you should look at others because there are not many GC resorts in italy.

DAE sometimes gets a unit or two at a resort in a castle in northern Italy that was once the residence of a past queen of Savoy. They don't have Gold Crown ratings, but a former royal residence should outdo anything RCI has to offier.

I do like DAE for the exact reason you mentioned in the above post.

Carolinian, do you remember the name of the resort in Italy ? I'd like to request it.

go to Dial An Exchange Timeshare, Vacation Ownership & Points Clubs Exchange Service
You can rent weeks and request weeks. Naturally, to exchange, you have to deposit, however, check them out. I really like them.

Aren't there lots of Gold Crowns in the Canary Islands and the Baleric (Balereic? How do you spell it?) Islands? Those are supposed to be nice.

The resort in Italy I mentioned is La VIlla Della Regina.

DAE also gets some Schloss Grubhof, an old castle in Austria near Salzvurg that dates from the 14th century and is really elegant.

When do you want to go?

I want to go in 2009. Generally, we can travel between mid- April and mid -November...


Thanks for the tip on DAE - I am checking with them also on their availability and how often these resorts have openings...

I would also love to visit Spain or France; but Italy is on the top of my list~
