Any suggestions for Odessa?

Will be heading to Odessa, Ukraine on Monday for four days. Already have hotel arranged, but interested in restaurant and other suggestions. My previous trips to Ukraine have been to Kiev and Lviv.

Alas, I've heard of Odessa, but not been there. If it's critical to you, I can try to look up some of my old contacts who've been there, but I'm sure a lot has changed over the past decade. Hope you have a great time. It's supposed to be a fairly pretty area.

Odessa was an interesting place when I was there a few months ago. THis thread seems to have recycled lately.

We stayed in a nice 4* hotel across from the Opera House that had been a club for the aristocracy back in Czarist times. We found some good restaurants and an interesting museum or two. There was a lot of restoration of old buidlings in the city already completed and much still going on. The beach was decent for sunbathing, but I had enough water quaity concerns that I did not get in the water.
