  • Please help me plan my trip to London and Glasgow!

    Hi all,

This July I'm taking my wonderful 14 year old son (just the two of us) to London and then Glasgow.

Can you all give me lots of suggestions for what to do that would be fun for both my son and myself? I'm less concerned about London (but still would love suggestions) but very concerned about what to do for a week in Scotland. (Plus, I will be renting a car in Scotland but am a bit afraid to drive...and afraid of getting lost!)

Thanks for any and all advice!

    Sharon

Sharon, Paul from Timesharetalk.UK is a moderator in this forum. He checks in every so often but I think you just missed him today as he was here before you posted. I would recommend that if you need an answer sooner to post on http://www.timesharetalk.co.uk/forum/default.asp , Since that 90% of the members there live in the UK you will get more answers there then anyplace else.

      Sharon,

Some idea of the kind of thing your son likes to do might help us point you in the right direction. Sulking and being generally difficult are 2 'givens' for a 14 year old

Lol...Keith, I'm hoping he stays sulk-free for this trip. He was just voted "Best Sense of Humor" in the 8th grade class, so I expect to really enjoy our time together!

Let's see, he's quite bright and enjoys learning about history. He really really enjoys amusement parks, but I don't see that working out! He is excited to have afternoon tea in as many different places as possible...he really loves it as well as enjoys a good meal/retaurant in general. He loves to watch sports (though I don't). He also likes shows so we will plan to do one in London. He has some interest in politics and might like to see Parliament if they still let people drop in and if it's not too boring. He loves science. (Is the Eden Project too far or not worth eating up time we could spend in the city?)

He doesn't like the beach or swimming much...and again, I don't think that will be an issue! He also doesn't like shopping which is too bad..lol!!

        Thanks!!

        Sharon
