We've stayed there and liked it. You really do need a car to drive to the last subway stop and make your way into Rome. Many of the complaints center on the resort activities, but we were using the resort only for a base and were not concerned with their swimming facilities/golf/etc. We found the staff helpful and did some investigating of the little towns around the resort. Again, you need a car because there isn't (or at least wasn't) anything within walking distance. You're out of town in a suburban area on a golf course.

We stayed there in 2004. I really wouldn't call it a resort. At that time they did have a shuttle to the train but it's better to have a car. Most nights we were the only ones in the restaurant. The units are basic but clean. It's a lot cheaper than staying in a hotel.

I stayed there in 2007, the units are clean and the surrounding countryside nice. I didn't have a car, but worked around it using the train/shuttle combination (about 45 minutes travel time). The last train/shuttle was early evening, so I stayed in a hotel in Rome for two of the nights during the week so I could have dinner and experience Rome at night.

Italy was fantastic and this resort is very nice

We were there about 3 years ago and loved the resort. Driving in Italy in general and to and from train station was a bit of a hassle but we never would have had this fantastic trip to Italy without this exchange. 1BR unit was very nice with marble hallways and bathroom. Nice view of Golf couse and we even ate at the resort twice during our stay and thought it was pretty good plus they had entertainment at the restaurant for at least 1 of the nights that was very nice.

One week at this resort was combined with 3 nights in Florence at a hotel as well as 3 nights in Venice for a total of 13 glorious nights in Italy. We would go back in a heartbeat and although really liked the accomodations would stay in Rome next time to save on the commuting time and enjoy Rome at night. Take the exchange you won't be sorry and extend it with at least another week in Italy.:cheer: :hi:

Thanks for all the help. We took the trade.

            Rome here we come.

Now, how about this question. We want to see the Pyramids. How about a cruise out of Italy that makes a stop in Alexandria or Port of Said? Anybody done that? What cruise line?

            Thanks
