If u want a 3B, book one now. I have had my room changed on check-in when I have been unhapy with the location but never a bigger unit

I've had luck with doing that in the past and was wondering since these are the worst weeks for Interval's index that they might do it.
I have never tried this but if u have, it can't hurt to ask.

Does Marriott do this for non members? I know they'd probably do it for a member but I've not purchased anything yet.
I am a 3 week Marriott owner and have never been upgraded to a larger unit on check-in. The most that being a Marriott owner can do for you is unit location at a particular resort

And last question, does Marriot or Interval have a 1 in 4 or 1 in 3 rule? Because I want to book 2 weeks back to back.
No, that is an RCI "rule" - II does not allow resorts to coerce them into restricting owners exchanging into resorts because they continue to operate as an EXCHANGE company - RCI is mainly a rental company.
But even with RCI - and their bogus "1 in 4" rules - u r still allowed to book two weeks concurrently or consecutively
    .

    Thanks again.

      Thanks Pat.

My boss owns a Marriott too and she tells me that she always gets upgraded to a 2 bedroom when she splits her week. They give it to her at check in.
I'll have to ask her if she asks them to upgrade her or not.

When I go to my home resort here in Hollywood I always ask for an upgrade on whatever I book and they usually will give me a 2 bedroom unless they are full. Of course I go so often that the staff knows me by name so, so far I've been lucky enough to get upgraded from a studio to a 2 bedroom and that is using the last call inventory or the 9000 points stuff that I've booked. Only once did they not upgrade me but I was by myself so it didn't really matter.

I also recently got Vacation Villages in the Berkshires to upgrade me from a 1 bedroom to a 2 bedroom when I told them that I own a 2 bedroom in Parkway.

I guess you have to ask. They won't volunteer it but they do seem to not mind if you ask.

I haven't had luck with DVC though. That I expect since it's a tighter run ship.

Be careful with Carjet. I rented from them about five months ago for this July. I just got an email from them that they are changing car companies and adding an extra 30 Euro fee to the confirmed price that was not part of the original quote. What can I do? They are lower than the other last minute prices now, so I'm stuck with paying the extra fees.

          Spain Holidays

How about a holiday where you can enjoy the comfort of your own home and also experience plenty of sun, sea and beach,Spain offers more than sixty miles of beautiful beaches at the Costa Brava, along with a rich cultural history, stunning nature and many excellent restaurants.

Ibiza is one of my favorite destination all over the world, not only for it's luxurious nightlife but also for it's 575 square kilometers with 50 breathtaking beaches, spectacular cliffs and soft, white sand beaches.

We just got back from a week stay at Playa Andaluza (Marriott). It's the smaller sister resort to Marriott's Marbella. There is plenty to do and see there. You could easily spend two weeks trying to see everything.

I would definitely suggest renting a car. There are several websites available. We used DoYouSpain and rented a Ford 5 speed (automatics are rare in Europe) for ~ 140 Euros. You could probably do much better given the time of year you are going. There are many places some you mentioned such as Gilbralter and others such as Rhonda and Puerto Banus to name a few.

If you're not locked into Malaga, Barcelona is a wonderful city to visit, and there is a Marriott (Club Son Antem) that is just a ferry ride away on the island of Mallorca(Palma), if you're looking for alternates.

              Thanks mas.

I did this trip last December and did just as you are suggesting and got a rental car for a pretty decent price from the concierge at the Marriott. It was the best way to see the area. And yes it was a stick shift.

              Hope this helps someone else.
