  • Hi Spence I need you help

I have 2 nights booked at the RHC resort in Florence, Italy. RHC said there is now a $25 per person PER day mandatory breakfast fee. Did you run into this when you stayed there?
We will also be at the Domus in Rome for a few weeks. Boy , do we LOVE that place!
Thank you in advance for your help,
    Maria

Not Spence, but, Holy Crap! That Mandatory Breakfast had better be a super giant luncheon buffet with mimosas!

    Good luck. Eat hearty.

I stayed there twice last year without the additional fees.

First stay last summer, no mention of anything but posted in the room was a notice about additional fee for using the "kitchen." We didn't use it for anything but drinks and snacks and they didn't mention it.

In December they attempted to charge me for parking but it wasn't on my confirmation so I weaseled out of it. The front desk 'family' are very very nice and quite pretty, all sisters.

It may be the Mom of the sisters but the Breakfast lady is a Nazi, don't you dare try to take anything out of the breakfast. The breakfast is extensive and very nice, probably worth $25 by Florence standards. If RHC is telling you, then you'll probably have to pay. This is RHC's way of keeping the contract for the four rooms thay have there and not raising the points to keep their cost low they aren't including the benies like parking and breakfast and letting the hotel charge you directly. Just like they do in Nassau, all sorts of junk fees.

I had to pay $75 for my 3 nights in Florence as a b'fast fee when I made my April 2010 ressie.

              Hi Spence and Maria,
Thank you for the info on the resort. The place does look nice, but wow , the added price seemed crazy!

Tell them that you're due to personal reasons, diabetes, religion dietary laws, GI problems/intolerance, you cannot eat their breakfasts. You'd love to, but cannot.

It's pp, but I told them only one person is confirmed, if I add another traveler, I'll inform RHC.
