I just looked at over 30 resorts listed throughout Italy in II.....I looked quickly, but didn't see any mention of AI/half-board at any of them.

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

La Ferriera also operates as a hotel (apartment rentals) as well as a local restaurant of some renown - the signs in the village emphasize the restaurant, not the accommodations. I still get emails from La Ferriera advertising their specials.

My hunch is that these mandatory half-board weeks in RCI aren't timeshare-owner-owned, but hotel-developer-owned. I bet RCI initiated these deals, like they've done with the Hyatts and other hotels in the US.

Not saying there's anything appealing about these as exchange weeks, I wouldn't do it. BTW, you could spend a couple of nights there and skip RCI. From La Ferriera's website: "Euro 80 per person per day include accommodation in one of our wonderful apartment, breakfast, dinner a la carta to sample the genuine and Tuscan dishes."

Looks like they enforce the half-board even for people who booked through RCI as what they thought was a "regular exchange."
