  • Mexican MF based on peso devaluation

Our Velas Vallarta contacts include the following:

"The common expense fees for each year may not increase more than the percentage increase of consumer prices from September to September of each year as given by el BANCO DE MEXICO and deducting the percentage of devaluation of the mexican peso against the U.S. Dollar for the same period."

In 2008 & 2009 the MF increased 7%. In 2010 their letter stated "based on the actual economic crisis" we decided to only increase MF by 3% even though the inflation of the Mexican Index has superseded this percentage."

I looked at our MF history since 2000 and it looks like a few of the early years jumped as much as 12%.

Does anyone know if there is a website that provides information on the increase in consumer prices as given by the Banco de Mexico so I can predict the 2011 MF.

Someone wants to rent 3 of our weeks and I want to cover the projected MF increase.

    Thanks

Just call or email the resort and they can tell you your 2011 MF! I would assume that would be the easiest way!

I spoke with the reservations manager yesterday. It is to early to know. We need to pay at least 100% of last years MF to make reservations for 2011. They don't send letters stating the increased amounts until mid October. The renter agreed to pay the amount I am guessing will be the 2011 MF.

Since many of our contracts have similar clauses, I was just curious what it might be. Banco de México is the official site of Banco De Mexico. Banco de México is their English version.

I just made reservations for two weeks at Club Velas in a one bedroom Villa PLus, they had no problem telling me the 2011 MF fee. I suggest you speak with someone else and also if you have a renter I would assume you have to make their reservations so they will tell you the cost when you book and you could book in your name for now if you chose and change it later.....with a letter I believe.
