I have a Canadian friend that moved here about 15 years ago his son was about 6 and the following year they had to take the kid to translate for them everywhere!! it was funny how the kid would get tired of translating at the grocery store, hardware store etc... but it was cool to see how he learned spanish so quick! on the other hand my friend... Hasn't learned so well

Yes my son would say he has been there done that and still doing that...LOL. He told my dad when he was about 8, you know Pa you must not be as smart as you thought, my dad asked why , he replied cause it only took me 3 months to learn spanish and you are still only on a few words...oh to be young and have lots of room for knowledge...My tutor told methat kids learn so quickly cause their brains are not full of all the stuff like ours are, like check books , bills etc..probably just being nice....LOL

AMEN!! my boy (4) and I where discussing what to do for the weekend he wanted to go to Peter Piper Pizza (chuckie chees type place) when I told him mom wants to go to the beach and later at night we'll go to PPP he said "dad that's a good hypothesis" hahahaha
