  • Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach with wheelchair

Just a couple of weeks ago we helped with a disabled 81 year old with a vacation to Mexico. We found her and her daughters a 2 bed executive suite at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach in Cabo. This lady can not walk at all as her hip is shot. We explained at check in our situation and Victor, the check in person, was more than helpful. He gave us the requested building 17 and a room with a larger patio to accomidate our older gal. Another group which included me were in building 31.

The golf cart drivers were great. They would actually lift this lady out of the wheelchair and place her in the front seat. The shuttle to the Pacifica had enough room in back to lift the entire wheelchair into the back. The trip to the Rose, Blanco and other Cabo destinations was our own minivan rental.

The church at Sunset Beach was packed and they always had room up front for this gal and her daughters. They attended mass on Ash Wennesday and Sunday.

At the Rose and Blanco the Pueblo Bonito employees were great helpers. They helped get this gal into a lounge chair on the beach more than a few times by carrying the wheelchair with her in it. They also assited with helping in the bathroom when all of the daughters were elsewhere.

This lady had a blast. She smokes, drinks a bit and is on medication but has the combination figured out. Anyway, we just recieved a Thank You card saying that she had a really great trip.

At the duty free store this gal bought 2 liters of Don Julio, 1 bottle of Kettles Vodka and a carton of Marlboro. She had alot of thirsty helpers in regaurds to the booze. Still fun at 82. We should all be this lucky.

That's great to hear. I would have thought that with all the hills, Sunset Beach would have been the worst resort for someone with a wheelchair. But with such great service by the staff, it was just the opposite.

I was just there last year and already miss it. Dang that one in four ....

She was lucky too to have you around to help her have a nice stay. Nice photos too.

People in Mexico are very friendly and helpful in general. Just stay away from the timeshare sharks and some crooked timeshare developers in different areas.

You can find them easily on the Internet by searching for timeshare fraud or scams, etc. and you will get the names automatically of the worst offenders.

She sounds like a poster child for the booze and tobacco industry.

LOL.. She says she has smoked since she was 18 or so. Over 60 years. She liked the margaritas but requested only single shot tall drinks and only had one after lunch and another in the evening. The vodka was used to spice up her cranberry juice.

I was worried about the hills at Sunset Beach but with almost every room a view room it was a good choice for someone that can't walk. The rooms are huge and the patios are pretty good sized as well.

I did tip the golf cart drivers when ever posible. This gal made it to the Sky Pool a couple of times, the Beach Pool a couple of times and the sister resorts on Medano Beach where she enjoyed all the beach action.

              Dear Readers,

As long as you keep yourself away from timeshare presentations, you will have a wonderful experience in mexico.
