Sometime at the beginning of 2012 or end of 2011, the Finisterra Hotel was sold to the Sandos Resorts (company in Spain) and is renamed Sandos Finisterra. The intention is to make it an All-Inclusive resort. (100% and mandatory) as all the other Sandos resorts.
Sandos has a "sales / marketing branch"......Royal Elite Vacation club (Mexican company) Royal Elite is there to sell vacation packages (they are timeshare reps)
Hope this is the correct place to post......I just arrived.....
As a current "Finisterra" contract owner, I have never received any information regarding this transition. I was totally clueless, just trying to book my week. It has taken persistence to get email responses. I then discover that 3 of the 4 original timeshare contract staff.....no longer work there.
I decide to call directly to the timeshare office and book my week. Front desk misunderstands and transfers my call to the Royal Elite sales shark tank! THIS is how I found out about Sandos buying Finisterra! The guy tells me that as a "current owner" I am required to meet with them so that they can discuss my package options. He explains to me that my contract no longer exists because "they" own Finisterra now.
OK, now let me make this clear. I KNOW this is complete and total B.S. and this smooth talker is spewing lies in order to make me believe I have to "buy" a package with them. I am not confused. I know that my contract must be honored......and yes, it does still exist.
The problem here is that many (if not most) current owners will fall for this......sheep to the slaughter. To keep information from the owners until they arrive for their vacation is a benefit only to the Royal Elite timeshare sales reps. Much easier to snag them when they arrive as happy, clueless vacationers.
I am hoping that some current owners will read different review sites or forums (such as this). I would like to know if any other timeshare owners have been through a "buy-out" of their resort and how were their contracts handled.
