  • Best All Inclusive resorts for families?

I am trying to book an EV or Getaway for a friend who, bion, wants AI in Mexico (not that there's anything wrong with that ). They especially need plentiful good activities for the kids (ages 5 and 12).

Any recommendations would be appreciated. They had been looking at Iberostar before learning of the potential timeshare opportunity.

    What part of Mexico?...

I might suggest the Velas resorts, they have 4 resorts, one is adults only and then 2 on Pacific and one on Cancun side are family oriented....

The Palace resorts or Hard Rock are also quite good for families.

Are they looking for activities they can do with there 5 and 12 year old or are they looking for kids club type places where they can drop the kids off for the day while they do non kid activities? My husband likes AI's but doesn't particularly like Cancun. The only resort we stayed in there since having kids was the Moon Palace. I don't know about drop off activities but they did seem to have lots that kids could do with their parents yet still maintain an atmosphere that kids weren't running wild all over the place. Still lots of quiet relaxation spots for adults. It is on the lagoon side which is good for water sports. They also provided a shuttle to the sister resorts on the hotel zone strip on the ocean side. These resorts were more compact and seemed much busier but it was nice having both options in one trip. Palace resorts AI (through a member or through RCI) also often include money toward day trips which some are very appropriate and fun for kids as well as adults.

They seem pretty open. I have suggested the Velas resorts and will also mention the others

I'm not sure about drop-off or family activities - my guess is both but I will mention the Palace resorts. The ones I saw only had hotel rooms, though - do you know if that's all they offer?

Glitter.. (do I remember you--from the Swamp Moneys??) Hi... today I opened my Dunhill travel deals website...(always good to scan for ideas). The advertised specials are 93 and I think 97 for two Cancun "Real Resorts.." then there are two more expensive per da. ones listed..called Royals (but I think NOT the 'royals' that are on the timeshare listings-- one right in the heart of Playa del Carmen -- each one of these says Kids are free.. Maybe you can look into this for friend.. I gather one would have to call ahead and ask about child activities.
