  • First case of Chikungunya virus detected in Mexico

The first case of the Chikungunya virus was reported on June 20 in the State of Jalisco.

Let's hope that it will not come to Puerto Vallarta or any other city like the Dengue fever that seems to be a problem too.

A mosquito repellent is a must today and there are good natural ones to choose from.

We have had 3 confirmed cases in NC. I am staying mostly inside as I can not imagine what would happen to me if I got bit. shaggy

A new virus I had not heard of. Good thing I bought a Fogging machine off of Amazon. It is definitely working and if I use it every other day I do not see any on the off days

burgess 960 mine is electric. figured it will work and not have carburator problem. if you decide on getting one please use the link at the top of the page. also get your self a mask you will be happy you did.
I did not get a mask but it is in my cart now. I also bought 2 fogging chemicals. The black flag might be stronger and cheaper but
i am not sure if it is safe fore plants. The bonide 418 is safe for plants and in fact if took care of these little critters that was on the leaves. Even my eggplant no longer has holes on the leafs.

Over 100,000 confirmed cases in the Caribbeans and eastern Mexican coast this year. Over 70 confirmed cases in the USA this year mostly from travelers returning from the Caribbeans. Chikungunya virus has no known cure. The joint pain can be excruciating, and debilitating symptoms usually last days and sometimes weeks.

Recently, state health officials have reported that American travelers to the Caribbean from Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Florida, Indiana, Maryland, Nebraska, New York, Nevada, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia have been stricken with symptoms consistent with chikungunya. Wednesday, officials in the U.S. Virgin Islands reported a locally transmitted case of the disease.

When I go fishing in mosquito plagued areas I like deep woods off. Also treating clothing with permethrin works pretty good, especially with tics.
