Do you recommend a Cancun Guidebook for first timers?

We are going to the Royals for weeks in Nov. for our first trip to Cancun. I am concerned because we know very little about the area. We are not looking for expensive tours but we do want to enjoy the area on a limited budget. We would especially love to find some great inexpensive restaurants.
Are there any guidebooks that are especially helpful and worth purchasing?
