  • Need info on Playa del Sol Grand, Nuevo Vallarta

My sister and family will be headed here for spring break, they have 2, two bed suites. Does anyone have any experience with this resort? Also, would like some info on this area and on things to do along with good restaurants to sample. There will be four adults, 3 older teens and 2 girls 8 and 10. Any info provided would be much appreciated.

Well, if no info on the resort how about

some on the area and things for this extended family can do. What are some good restaurants to try? Is it really that big of a pain to get from N.V. to P.V.? I know some of you have been to this area and I would sure appreciate it if you were to share those experiences!! Thank you in advance for any and all posts.

We haven't stayed at the Playa

but we have stayed in Nuevo.

It isn't any big deal to get to town.

Taxi's are plentiful, the fare is about $11-13 each way.

The bus is only $1.50 and drops you infront of Wal-mart, across the street from the marina area.

We mostly ate at the resorts eateries, plus a trip to Buceirus, and another that the cab we hired for the day trip showed us.

The food is all very good, we plan on getting into town more this upcoming trip, if Joyce is up to a little more walking.

Pamela Thompson <pmt15@hotmail.com> lives in the area is and is more than happy to send you a packet of information regarding the area .

Our son and daughter-in-law spent one week there on their honeymoon in June and loved it. The videos were awesome, the units were gorgeous and the perfect spot for a honeymoon. There is a pool that looks like it ends in the ocean, but I forgot what they called it. Gorgeous grounds. They had a one bedroom suite with small kitchen. Very nice.

I would suggest you rent a car - this resort is at the outer edge of NV - closer to Bucerias Taxi into PV will be expensive. At last check there was no public transportation convenient to the resort. However, if you rent a car, you can park at Wal-Mart & take a bus into PV. There are many good restaurants in Bucerias, a small Mexican town not far from the resort. One of our favorites is El Pescadero. There are also restaurants in the Grand Mayan & Mayan Palace NV area that would not be too far by taxi. On the positive side, this resort is right on a nice beach. Check out tripadvisor.com for more infomation from people who have stayed there. There are also resort reviews on the TUG website if you are a member.
