  • Cancun airport, still awful?

Last time we were there, also a Thanksgiving week, the customs line was hours long. Am wondering if we should arrange for a wheelchair for my 80+ yo uncle as he won't be able to stand for long. He is resisting, but if it's still bad there I'll insist.

Anyone been there recently, or this past winter/spring during a busy week?

We used a wheelchair for my wife in January, and we got to bypass the whole line.

How bad did the line look? He really wants to avoid the chair if possible

My mother uses a wheelchair all of the time when she travels. And my younger dd used one when she was recovering from hip surgery. What is your uncle's reluctance to use one? It is wonderful for bypassing the lines.

My guess is 45-60 minutes in line vs. 5 minutes

He feels he would appear to be trying to bypass the lines

Heck, if I could get away with using one I would.

did the wheelchair, whisked through no problem... we'll see what happens going back, though they may have to leave early for one of several reasons... tbc

Glad he agreed! I understand pride, but to me, things like wheelchairs in airports are a right for those that can benefit from them. One who has capability restrictions, whether due to age or other reasons shouldn't have to endure pain/discomfort. Enjoy your time
