Ocean views are reserved for owners

We rented from a person who had done an exchange and were given the "garden view". We pleaded with the desk and they were able to exchange our 2 bedroom for a one bedroom with a view. Part of the reason they could accommodate us, is that we were a Monday check in but we happened to be leaving early so that the room with a view which had a Sat. check in could be utilized by us. It was wonderful. We had a beautiful holiday. If you do like the resort it is worth buying to guarantee an ocean view. We did buy on ebay when we got back. Ocean view rooms are definitely reserved for owners. When you call one year ahead to make your reservation they will confirm the view.

Hacienda Del Mar is Another great Cabo Timeshare resort in the Corridor.
Onsite resturants are very expensive and you would need a rental car to enjoy the area.

We stayed there on an exchange about 5 years ago and wound up buying when we got back home. It's true the exchangers are in the rear facing the parking lot. We complained about the unit and managed to talk them into letting us have ocean view because we were on a short stay and they could still keep the unit for the owners arrival. Only owners get the view. Hence we purchased. And we enjoyed dining on the beach.

Then we toured all around Cabo and fell in love with Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach because every unit there has a view. We purchased several units there when we got home. Bottom line is it's your vacation and you travel a long way. Do not give up ocean view. We have our PBSB unit available for rent.

            Hi Frank,

I was at HDM last summer. It's a beautiful resort. They re-did the steakhouse (De Cortez) and it looks even better than before. All of the restauarants are good - Girasoles being my favorite, with the BEST breakfast (includes all you can drink mimosas and bloody marys and all you can eat ordering from the menu for 1 price. They also have reasonable dinner prices and good Mexican food.

Pools are gorgeous; beach is breathtaking (although you cannot swim); rooms are really nice with very comfortable beds (sheraton sweet sleepers); etc.

Let me know if you have any specific questions..

            Have a great time !!

It's been a few years since we stayed there, but they had 3 pools and progressive (sequential?) 2for1 happy hours. We had a great time.

There are 3BRs that have good views and those that don't - the best thing would be to get there as early as possible and let your wife do the talking LOL - just kidding, but niceness and being early has worked for us in the past.

I ended up passing on this for myself when I started the thread 3 years ago, but just booked a friend in through the SFX sell off list so am catching up to see if there are any tips for things to do nearby, etc..

They are going in early September. I know her H wants to go fishing.

I booked a 3 bedroom there for next August. We know it will be hot, but we are still really looking forward to it.

Best room locations to ask for at Hacienda del Mar Cabo?. I will be exchanging in to a 2 bedroom.

Has anyone been put into the hotel rooms instead of vacation club rooms recently?

Rich, Some of There owners did not get rooms that they asked for, YOur best bet is to email Rolando the resort MGR a week before check in, He is the person who takes care of the rooms
