I checked the CDC website for my trip to NV & Acapulco next year and it looks like Acapulco is in a "Malaria - risk area" of Mexico... so I intend to do as the website suggests and get an antimalarial prescription drug before I go...

They also suggest getting an immunization for HepA and Typhoid before you go to Mexico... we are going back to Cabo for the second time in August and I was going to talk to my dr. about getting these two first (I didn't the first time!).


Am I being overly cautious? Does anyone else do this stuff?

Maybe ? A long time ago there was a health professional that said that hepatitis C shots should be the rule before going to Mexico. My doctor said not to worry about it when I asked him. So everytime I go to Mexico, I go without. There is a slight chance of picking up malaria there, but only off the beaten path and even in some places like Chitzen-Itza.
