We were very fortunate to have stayed here a week recently because of Lawren. It is a unique resort because there are no windows. A lot of the living space is outdoors and each condo has a pool and the water cascades down from one to the next. It is built on a very steep hill.

The photos here will give you a better idea. We bought the book "Art and Architecture of Passion" about the Architect, Edward Paul Giddings and his own quote describes his design the best.
"At Ochos you are basically living as close to Mexico's bountiful nature as is humanly possible without being out in the open."
We will never forget this vacation. The staff was so friendly and we met several guests because they gave a welcome party at the resort.

Great pictures, thanks for sharing. I guess no elevators? My wife has had double knee replacement and doesn't do stairs very well. So guess this resort isn't and option.

WOW. That is a fantastic resort. I need to head down to Mexico to check out some of these great places. I love Mexican food and Mexican culture. All you need is a mariachi band playing music in the background.

Another WOW. This has been on my list for fantasy exchanges but so far all I've seen have been the 1BR unit. I am holding out for the 2BR preferably from November-March. I know that would be a difficult trade but I will keep looking.

No and if you stay here long enough you will be so fit! The secret is to have the taxi drive you to the top entrance. We did that but nobody answered the gate so our cab driver drove down to the lower level and we had to walk up the steps but they carried the luggage for us. If I would go back again, I would call them ahead of time and ask for the code so you have it handy.

There is no A/C and no oven or microwave either but you can ask for a private cook and they do also the shopping for you. She is a "floating" cook so it is on a first come, first serve basis. She was busy every day and sometimes cooked two dinners. It was a lot cheaper than eating out plus you didn't have to shop. We enjoyed it.

Nice resort. May be the only resort that adopted the "trickle down" theory to it's pools.

                , Tony.

I forgot to mention that there are no TVs either. We didn't miss it one little bit. There is a computer downstairs so you could use the Internet and it was free but slow. This is why I walked the steps up and down for mainly.

                    Larry,

Join TPI. If you have a wide enough window they could probably get OC for you.

This might be where I take my wife on our 25th. It is high in the running.

Make sure it's before the end of RTU. I believe the date is coming up quickly...

The people below us got their unit from TPI too and you can also rent from some of the timeshare owners here as I found this web page by searching for rentals but I don't know if they are part of the Giddings Company where we picked up our book?

Mrs. Giddings told us that her office also has rental units available. Their email address is giddingsco@aol.com and their phone number is 949-640-8740. I told her that I would put in a plug for her rentals at this forum as so many timesharers would like to go there too and exchanges are hard to get. She said that was OK with her. The service was wonderful and the people there are so friendly and helpful too.

You would really like it Frank. Your anniversary date is still a good time to go and not too hot yet. You are used to the hot and humid weather which we are not.

No, it is an older digital camera (Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ20 digital camera). I bought a point and shoot camera but the pictures were not sharp far away so I returned it. It was good for taking close-up pictures of people.
