  • Hacenda del Mar, Cabo????

Hey, anyone know anything about Hacienda del Mar in Cabo.
I got a call from RCI a few days ago saying that they have a couple hundred units available there for trading for RCI folks. The person that called me said that they usually can't get traders in to this property but that this opportunity had come up. She said that she could get me a trade in there during Sept-Dec and also said she could arrange a trade for me for Jan or March with a deposit I have expiring end of March. I checked on line and place looks pretty nice, non AI, but I can't use the trade as I just booked Grand Mayan RM for November this year.
Also, I did an on line search and I could only see a couple of units (1BR's) one in Nov and one in Dec. Apparantly they would have connected me with the trade for the other times they offered.
Anyway, just wondering if anyone else got this call or if anyone has stayed there. Like I said I was tempted as the place looks pretty nice.

We just bought there earlier this year as we got a good deal. It's a great resort and attached to the Sheraton hotel so you do get quality and service. Some of the feedback I've had is the restaurant is pricier. But the biggest knock, I think, that people have with it is that it's in the corridor between Cabo and Los Cabos so you have to have a vehicle or access to transportation to get around.

I get the sense that most people that go to Cabo like to be be close to town so they can walk everywhere and have easy access to all the amenities. We always rent a car so we can go exploring so being in the corridor wouldn't be an issue with us.

One other thing that just popped into my mind is that the resort gives room preference to owners, rather than exchangers (i.e. ocean view view non-ocean view). Most of the posts I've heard about not getting a unit with a view is from exchangers.

On the units themselves, there are 3 different versions of 1BR units (luxury, master and executive suites). Studios and 2BR/3BA penthouse units (really nice with panormic views and balconies. The MFs on the 2BR units are in the $1300+ range so the resort is very nice.

    Those are my comments.

We were there at the end of last year and we really liked the resort even though we were put in a unit with parking lot view. If you can get a 1BR or larger exchange, go for it!

We spent our 40th anniversary at Hacienda del Mar in Cabo. I loved the resort. When you walked into our unit, you were on the level with the kitchen and living room; the bedroom was downstairs. There was daily maid service. We enjoyed several beautiful pools and jacuzzi's on the oceanfront property. We rented a car with no problem and had a wonderful time in Cabo!
