What are my Chances..Cancun?

Hello everyone,

I was just curious what my chances are of getting one of the Royals in Cancun during June, July or August of 2008. I just became a member of II today. I own a 2 bd EY Fixed week #25 at the Liki Tiki Village in Orlando. I bought it last year (resale) and used it this year. I am hoping to go to Cancun next year. What are my chances, and some of the tricks of the trade. I am VERY new at this exchanging and can use all the help I can get. Thanks!!

Those are gettable, usually smaller units, but with Orlando, I'd not be extremely optimistic.

I think your chances might be better with Rci but since you are open for any date in 3 months I would bet you will get it.

The Royals don't deposit with RCI except for the very occasional Club Internacional de Cancún.

I think the summer months are do-able with Interval even with an Orlando trade. Tony and Angela would know better.

The OP should keep a sharp eye on the Interval Exchange Opportunities board.

The resort I own doesnt exchange with RCI only with II or through their own.....Club Navigo, or Island one. Island one is an internal exchange with different resorts in Florida.

Ok so can someone help me out with how this exchange process works using II. I am a newbie and this will be my first exchange. I dont know anything about it. I need step by step instructions/pointers.....lots of questions....Do I have to pay my maintenence fees in advance before I exchange? Do I have to deposit my week first and "hope" I get cancun? If so, what happens if I deposit my week and cant get cancun? If I can get Cancun what resorts should I consider or stay away from considering I am a single Dad and my two daughters are 9 and 10. I maybe travelling with my Nanny, or with my mom. Thanks again!!

First post in the II forum for II help, Then post what you are looking for in the II exchange opportunities forum and check back every day to see if it has been spoted yet.

I have seen them pop up from time to time on II with a weak trader. Put in an on-going search and keep an eye on it on-line as well.

Yes you will need to pay your maintenance fee before you can deposit. I would be more optimistic than others about getting your trade. Deposit early with a wide range of dates. Put in for the 3 tri-royals and the Sands. I'm sure 1 of them will come through. You don't have to deposit your week. You can do a request first search. Remember if you are just doing a trial search that only shows whats left after the request are filled. You want to get on the request list as early as possible.

Yes, you have a shot. Best bet to find out would be to call II and see if you have the power/quality to trade into the Royals- my guess is yes. RCI only has the Royal Mayan and Club International as Royal affiliates- all the Royals can trade thru II.

I don't know nothing about Island One, but it seems you have a corporate II account. I also don't know if Orlando can pull the Royals.

My Sunterra II account pulls the Royals all the time. Can you search to see if you can pull anything?

I did the search. All 4 are available from now to December 2007 and then after September 2008. I don't see anything between June to August 2008. They will come up for sure, according to my previous experience.

I actually just purchased my II account @$84 per year. I purchased 2 yrs worth. I cant search for anything because I still am a "temporary" member until they verify with my resort that I am an actual owner. I guess I will just have to be patient and "hope". Thanks for all the insight.

wow....thanks!! Unfortunately none of those dates work for me. The only thing that comes up for my dates are "coral mar" and "imperial fiesta club" But those are also 1 bdrms instead of 2 bdrms. Thanks for the heads up though.
