We leave next Friday for Cabo, and I'm wondering if it's worth takin snorkeling gear. I will take my mask cuz it has my perscription, but is it necessary to haul our fins and hubby's mask. I'm trying to break our trend, and for once travel light.

snorkeling in Cabo
You can either drive or take the bus to Playa Santa Maria or Bahia Chileno if you want to spend some time on a great beach with what is probably the best snorkeling in Cabo. Granted it doesn't compare with the Caribbean but you will see plenty of fish. If you do it on your own I would take my own gear. There are plenty of boat trips to these locales too.
We prefer Chileno over Santa Maria because there are bathrooms (just bring TP) and some shaded areas. We spent several days there last year and loved it. The water gets a little crowded in the snorkel area from late morning to early afternoon when the boats arrive but the rest of the day is delightful.
